1. Cataract surgery in both simple and complex cases (monocular patients, zonular dialysis, mature white cataracts)

What it is:
Cataract is the clouding of the eye’s natural lens. Surgery removes it and replaces it with an artificial intraocular lens. Complex cases (e.g. monocular patients, zonular weakness, white cataracts) require specialized techniques.

Symptoms:
Blurred vision, reduced contrast, light sensitivity, difficulty driving at night.

Treatment:
Surgical removal (phacoemulsification or other techniques), tailored approach for complex cases.

2. Traumatic cataracts

What it is:
A cataract caused by eye injury (blunt trauma, penetrating injury, or chemical exposure).

Symptoms:
Sudden or progressive vision loss, blurred vision, possible pain or inflammation.

Treatment:
Observation or surgery depending on severity and associated damage.

3. Congenital cataracts

What it is:
Cataracts present at birth or developing during childhood.

Symptoms:
White pupil reflex, poor vision, strabismus, delayed visual development.

Treatment:
Early surgical intervention and visual rehabilitation (glasses or contact lenses).

4. Refractive cataract surgery

What it is:
Advanced cataract surgery aiming not only to remove the cataract but also to correct refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism).

Symptoms:
Typical cataract symptoms, often combined with dependence on glasses.

Treatment:
Implantation of premium intraocular lenses (e.g. multifocal, toric) to improve vision at multiple distances.
